What is your Shipping Policy?

Your should receive an email confirmation immediately after placing your order. If you do not please contact us at info@chocolatayconfections.com for confirmation. You will receive a separate email with shipping confirmation and tracking number. Estimated fulfillment of orders is 2-3 business days. fulfillment does not include shipping time. Chocolatay Confections has no control over carrier delays and driver shortages. 

 

All orders are shipped Monday and Tuesday via UPS Ground or Second Day Air. Please note that all shipping carriers are experiencing delays and a shortage of drivers nationwide.   

CURRENT SHIPPING TIMELINE:

We are shipping nationwide via UPS 1-3 business days. Orders take 2-3 business days to process and we ship on Monday's & Tuesday's ONLY. You can place your order any day of the week, but please note we only ship on Monday & Tuesday (i.e any order placed this week will be shipped the following Monday). Contact us if you need your order shipped earlier and we will try our best to accommodate.

We take great care in shipping your chocolates and confections to ensure you receive the same quality products that you would if you picked up locally. Due to the delicate and perishable nature of our fine chocolates we must adhere to the following SHIPPING GUIDELINES:

 

*We only ship within the United States 

 

*We do not ship to P.O Box

 

*If your order arrives damaged we must received notice within 7 days of receipt with pictures of the damaged products. We are not responsible for items damaged by mail carriers (not as a result of improper packaging from our end), therefore we need this information to submit a claim to the mail carrier. Without pictures or proof of damage we are unable to refund your order. The investigation takes up to 8 business days. Once the investigation is over and UPS approves the claim you will be refunded for your order. A claim cannot be filed for packages marked "abandoned".

 

*If your order does not arrive within 2 days of being shipped (we email a tracking number) please let us know as soon as possible so that we may investigate.

 

*We cannot assume responsibility for packages mailed to incomplete or incorrect addresses, if the recipient is out of town or unavailable or theft/damage that may result from unattended packages. 

Do you offer delivery or local pick up?

Pre-order for local pick up is available and highly encouraged. Pick day is Saturday. Pick up location at the Chapel Hill Farmers' market in University Place 8am-12pm or the Durham Farmers Market located at 501 Foster Street between 8am-12pm. To order for local pick up please Click Here.

We are not offering delivery* at this time. 

*If you have special circumstances or considerations which require delivery please feel free to each out to us via email to discuss. We will try our best to accommodate your needs.

 

What does Chocolatay mean?

The name comes from a play of two words: our oldest son’s nickname “Tay” given to him at birth by his late great-grandmother and the inspiration behind Chocolatay, and the Spanish pronunciation of the word chocolate (chock-o-LAHT-tey), which celebrates Danielle’s Dominican heritage.

What is your product shelf life? How should they be stored?

Our chocolates and confections are free of artificial preservatives, so the sooner you eat them the tastier! Our products should be stored at room temperature, away from strong odors and sunlight. For specific product shelf life questions please contact us.

 

How do you deal with allergens? Are your chocolates vegan?

We offer a number of vegan friendly chocolates in our online shop and also locally at these locations. Our chocolate is not suitable for individuals with milk allergies, both milk and dark chocolates are  crafted and molded in the same equipment; both our milk and dark chocolate are peanut free,  non gmo, gluten free and soy free. Our ingredients are currently gluten free (unless otherwise indicated in the product description or ingredient label). We understand the seriousness of food allergies therefore we take great measures to ensure best practices in keeping them separate. For food allergy questions or concerns please contact us prior to purchasing. 

 

Do you offer catering, favors, corporate gifts or special requests?

Yes we do, and we love making them! Please contact us at info@chocolatayconfections.com with any questions or special requests.​

Do you wholesale your products?

Not at the moment. All of our products are handmade, hand dipped and hand-cut. When we are able to automate some of our processes with commercial tools like: a guitar cutter, enrobing machine and continuous tempering machine we will be able to offer our products to retailers. Until then, our products are only available directly thorough us. 

What's your return/exchange policy?

If for whatever reason you are not happy with your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will do everything we can to make it right. ​
